Prayer to forgive someone who has hurt you

Prayer to forgive someone who has hurt you. We often come across people and situations that are quite hurting. We can't tolerate these situations mentally and emotionally and we feel them be hurting. They are painful to go through and they usually hurt our emotions via our minds. Hurting is a common thing in this era, people use to hurt others without any reason or intentionally. They may use abusive language or just speak in an indirect tone. But everything will be done to hurt our feelings, our emotions, and our existence. Hurting can be done physically or mentally to make ourselves feel low. It may be bad sayings to our looks, assets, relations, or anything we own. Hurting is a very bad thing that can make a person really disturbed or sad. The hurting has never done well to anyone until it is done for a good purpose. Most of the time it's done with a negative purpose and for making us feel low and inferior. People usually turn angry and violent if the hurting is massive. Whereas, others, go into deep depression while facing it. So, hurting is like a disease that can't be stopped, but we can reduce it by forgiving those who have hurt us.
To forgive the person who has hurt you, you need to do some prayers and ask God to forgive them. Just go through the following prayers and choose any of your choices:

ONE. “Lord, I know you want me to pray for this person. You already know how difficult this is for me and at this point, I really don’t want to (remember, you don’t have to sugar coat it. He already knows). But Lord, I pray your will in this person’s life. I pray they turn to you for direction and forgiveness and see how much they have hurt me.

Please give me eyes to see them from your perspective, and a heart to want to forgive. I ask for patience while you work your will and to show me how to be the loving Christian you have called me to be.” (Prayer for forgiveness)

TWO. "Go to Him when you are hurting and He will soothe your pain. Go to Him when you are joyful. He will share your joy and multiply it." — Sarah Young (When angry on the person, who have hurt you)

THREE. “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” — Luke 23:34 NLT

FOUR. "Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others." — Colossians 3:13

FIVE. Dear Merciful Lord,

Thank you for your gift of forgiveness. Your only Son loved me enough to come to earth and experience the worst pain imaginable so I could be forgiven. Your mercy flows to me in spite of my faults and failures. Your Word says to “clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” (Col. 3:14) Help me demonstrate unconditional love today, even to those who hurt me.

I understand that even though I feel scarred, my emotions don’t have to control my actions. Father, may Your sweet words saturate my mind and direct my thoughts. Help me release the hurt and begin to love as Jesus loves. I want to see my offender through my Savior’s eyes. If I can be forgiven, so can he. I understand there are no levels to your love. We are all your children, and your desire is that none of us should perish.

You teach us to “let the peace that comes from Christ rule in our hearts.” (Col. 3:15) When I forgive in words, allow your Holy Spirit to fill my heart with peace. I pray this peace that only comes from Jesus will rule in my heart, keeping out doubt and questions. And above all, I am thankful. Not just today, not just this week, but always. Thank you for the reminder, “Always be thankful.” (Col. 3:15) With gratitude I can draw closer to you and let go of unforgiveness. With gratitude I can see the person who caused my pain as a child of the Most High God. Loved and accepted. Help me find the compassion that comes with true forgiveness.

And when I see the person who hurt me, bring this prayer back to my remembrance, so I can take any ungodly thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ. (2 Cor. 10:5) And may the confidence of Christ in my heart guide me into the freedom of forgiveness. I praise you for the work you are doing in my life, teaching and perfecting my faith.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SIX. "I pray for that brother of ours who shot me, and whom I have sincerely pardoned. United with Christ, priest and victim, I offer my sufferings for the Church and for the world." — St. Pope John Paul II

SEVEN. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen. —  St. Francis of Assisi

EIGHT. God of all love and mercy, we ask for your assistance today in helping us find and offer forgiveness. Though we are injured and struggle with anger and disappointment, we know all too well the harm done by ongoing conflict.

Help us better understand what hurt us and why we feel so deeply.

Give us the courage and perspective to stand in the shoes of the one who has injured us.
Remind us that forgiveness is the only way to find freedom from the pain and desire for revenge that can trap us.

Provide the grace for us to extend forgiveness as an action of strength and hope, not weakness.

We know, from your loving example, that forgiveness possesses a power far beyond our experience of suffering and being wronged. Inspire us, then, to reconcile and to bring peace to our relationships and society through the power of forgiveness.

In your mercy, we pray. Amen. (Prayer for forgiveness by Jesus Christ)

NINE. Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen. (Our father prayer)

Prayer to forgive someone who has hurt you

TEN. Lord, when I open my eyes each day, help me to feel your presence. Help me to keep in step with your Holy Spirit and be counseled by your word. My heart aches and I am worn out from crying. Please help me rise out of my hurt and sorrow.

ELEVEN. “Lord, I know you want me to pray for this person. You already know how difficult this is for me and at this point, I really don't want to (remember, you don't have to sugar coat it. He already knows). But Lord, I pray your will in this person's life. I pray they turn to you for direction and forgiveness and see how much they have hurt me.

Please give me eyes to see them from your perspective, and a heart to want to forgive. I ask for patience while you work your will and to show me how to be the loving Christian you have called me to be.”

I pray this every day – over and over again. I ask God to help them humble themselves before Him, and ask that they want to seek his forgiveness, want to change, and no longer treat people in this way.

But I also ask for eyes to see them through His perspective, to show me what I have done in the situation, and how I can grow in this difficult time

TWELVE. Dear God,

Our hearts are burdened for our friends who are hurting right now. We ask that you would be their comforter, that you would cover them with your infinite grace and mercy, surrounding them in peace during this dark season. We pray for fresh grace, for renewed strength, for your goodness and mercy over their lives today.

We thank you that you alone are our refuge and strong tower. We thank you that no matter what we face, you are still on the throne, you are still in control, and nothing can ever stand against you. Thank you that you hold the victory in this world, and you have promised in your Word that you will be with us through any hardship we may face.

We know that only in you do we have the hope to face dark and uncertain times, for our future is held secure through the gift of Christ. We ask for you to extend your hope and compassion to our loved ones right now. In these days when they're struggling, or seem to have lost their way at times, would you please remind them that you are still here. With them. Close. That you are bigger than this storm they're facing, and you promise to hold them secure.

Thank you God that you are with us always, that your presence is mighty, and you hear our prayers on behalf of those we love. We ask that you would show yourself strong on their behalf. Remind them that nothing is too difficult for you, and you are leading them through this difficult time, covering them in your care. We know and believe beyond any doubt, that your power and love will never fail.

You are always trustworthy. You are all-powerful. You are fully able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are our healer and will never waste the pain we carry today. You promise to use all things for good in some way, because you are a God of miracles and nothing is too difficult for you.

All these burdens we carry for our friend today, we lay at your feet, Lord. We give them to you, and we thank you that you hear our prayers and are at work on their behalf even now. Thank you that you fight for us, even when we can't see all that you're doing, even when we can't fully understand your ways. We know that nothing can ever separate us from your great love and care, and our loved ones are safe in your hands.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

THIRTEEN. Lord, do not hold this sin against them,” for You are full of mercy and compassion for all. Please give me the grace to forgive so as to imitate Your perfect love…
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Lord, Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Amen.

FOURTEEN. Almighty God, You have listened patiently to my concerns and consoled me in times of hardship. Let me remember Your presence and love for me when I am called upon to forgive another person for an unkind word or action. You have shown me how to act, what to say, what to do, and yet I sometimes react in anger and find it difficult to forgive others as You so often have forgiven me. Grant that I may recognize this failing in myself and remember Your words and example whenever I have need of a forgiving spirit. Amen

FIFTEEN. Loving Father, please forgive me for what I have done against you. Father, I offer up this forgiveness prayer in hopes that you will look at my mistakes and know that I did not mean to hurt you. I know you know I'm not perfect. Lord, I know that what I did went against you, but I hope that you will forgive me, just as you forgive others like me. Father, I will try, to change. Also I will make every attempt to not give into temptation again.

Lord, I acknowledge that you are the most important thing in my life, Lord, and I know that what I did disappointed You. For that I ask, God, that you grant me counsel in the future. I ask for the discerning ear and open heart to hear and feel what you are instructing me to do. I pray that I will have the understanding to remember this time and that you give me the strength to go down a different path. Lord, thank you for all you do for me. I pray that you shower your grace upon me. In your Name. Amen.”

Final words: Never try to harm or take revenge on the person who had hurt you. Just be patient and silently move out of their life and just secretly pray to God for them. You will always find peace in forgiving them and asking God to forgive them. But if you do the same hurting thing, you will always get trapped in the web of hatred and hurt. You will never find peace and silence in your entire life. Even Jesus Christ has himself asked God to forgive all of them, who have killed him. He addressed all of them as innocent and said that they haven't done it intentionally.
